  1. Welcome to HyperLog 2.23!  If you are a new user to HyperLog I hope you will
  2. take the time to read the manual all the way through at least once to become
  3. familiar with all the different functions available within the program.  If
  4. you have been using HyperLog and are familiar with it, you probably just want
  5. to look over the installation section as SETUP has new options for Packet and
  6. other functions, also look at the sections titled PACKET, Database Browser,
  7. and Report Browser.  Registered users of HyperLog versions prior to 2.0 should
  8. call us at 404-844-8874 to obtain their new serial number free of charge to
  9. unlock the new features.  See the manual for details on registration.  The
  10. manual is located in HYPERLOG.DOC.  To print it to your printer, issue the
  11. DOS command COPY HYPERLOG.DOC PRN.  It is about 60 pages or so.

  13. HyperLog 2.23 has support for the QRZ CD ROM!  If you were currently using
  14. the BuckMaster CD ROM with an earlier version of HyperLog, make sure you run
  15. through the new SETUP.EXE program and reselect the BuckMaster prompt before
  16. running 2.23.  This is necessary to set up a couple of new variables added
  17. to handle QRZ.  See CHANGES.DOC for other new features added. HyperLog 2.23
  18. has numerous changes!  IF YOU ARE A USER OF PREVIOUS VERSIONS, MAKE SURE YOU
  19. READ THE TOPICS "PACKET" AND "SETUP" IN HYPERLOG.DOC TO UNDERSTAND ALL THE
  20. CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE THAT MAY REQUIRE CHANGES TO FIELDS IN SETUP.
  21. Also, if you are using a previous version below 2.22 (but not 1.xx) then DO
  22. NOT copy your HYPERLOG.IX file to the directory you put this version (2.23)
  23. in.  If you are extracting version 2.23 OVER your old files, make sure you
  24. delete your old HYPERLOG.IX file before starting version 2.23 if upgrading
  25. from a version prior to 2.22.

  27. IMPORTANT!!!

  29. None of the files from versions below 2.0 are compatible with version 2.23 so
  30. MAKE SURE you DO NOT extract the files from this version in the same directory
  31. where you have old version files.  The only file from a version prior to 2.0
  32. that can be used is HYPERLOG.PBF.  It can be converted to the new format.  See
  33. HYPERLOG.DOC for conversion information.

  37. Remember, if you are updating from a version prior to this one but still a
  38. version 2.x, AND you are extracting these new files OVER your old ones,
  39. once you finish the extraction, make sure you DELETE the file named
  40. PICKLIST.DAT to force HyperLog to rebuild it and other sort files to handle
  41. any changes to the new country file AND run ALT U, #5 to rebuild your QSL
  42. stats.

  44.                  FOR VERSION 2.0, 2.01 and 2.02 USERS ONLY!

  46. If you are currently using version 2.0 or above, you can copy the 2.23 files
  47. over your old ones; however, please see the note below about the country and
  48. assign files.  If you are converting from 2.0, please make sure you delete
  49. your old CONFIG.REC file before running the new SETUP.  There have been
  50. numerous additions to SETUP in 2.23 and the old file is no longer compatible.
  51. You might want to run the old 2.0 version of SETUP and print out your old
  52. settings before you replace your files with version 2.23.

  54. If you have been using version 2.0 or above AND have added any new countries
  55. to your country database or modified any existing countries data, you might
  56. now want to use the 2.23 COUNTRY.PBF and ASSIGN.PBF files.  If you do, you will
  57. overwrite the country changes you have made and you will have to re-enter
  58. those changes.  If you want to take advantage of the new additions/corrections
  59. to the country files, you can overwrite you old ASSIGN & COUNTRY files and
  60. then re-enter your country data changes/additions.  If you do use the new
  61. Country & Assign files, and you overwrite your other files, you should then
  62. delete the file PICKLIST.DAT to force HyperLog to rebuild a new picklist from
  63. the new country files and run ALT U, #5 to rebuild your qsl stats.
